Marin County Civic Centre by Frank Lloyd Wright designed 1957 and constructed 1960-61 (photo GBarr2007). Frank Lloyd Wright told the people of Marin County he wanted to join their hills together with their civic building. The golden Aztec/Japanese referenced spire sits beside a series of concrete skylighted domes which were originally to be gold but after his death were changed to blue. This was the only civic building completed by Wright and was completed after his death. This building was designed when Wright was in his 90's.
